Ileana’s starry airs cost her Nanban song!

Ileana seems to have not learnt her lessons even after going through the wrath of the Telugu film industry. The actress, who lost quite a few films with her starry airs, created troubles on the set of her forthcoming Tamil movie Nanban.

Sources say that Ileana D'Cruz refused to dance for the Tamil version of Bollwood hit song 'zoobbie doobbie…' Noted choreographer Farah Khan, who flew from Mumbai to Chennai on request of Shankar, was assigned to direct the song. However, when she asked the actress to participate in the rehearsal, Ileana complained of stomach ache.

Soon Farah Khan took her to a hospital, where the doctors said that Ileana D'Cruz is completely fine. After returning to the sets, the actress went to her vanity van and did not step out, which irked the choreographer. Hence, the song has been shot without her presence but it would only come to know when the songs of the film are released.

Nanban is a remake of Bollywood blockbuster 3 Idiots. The Tamil version features Vijay, Srikanth, Jeeva, Ileana and Sathyraj in the key roles.

7am Arivu remake Aamir Khan And Shruti Hassan

Shruti Hassan's career in Bollywood has not been fruitful so far but she is getting a golden opportunity to create a niche for herself in the Hindi film industry. Well, the actress will be pairing up with none other than Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan in the remake of Tamil movie 7aam Arivu.

If reports are to be believed, Aamir Khan has recently seen the forthcoming Tamil movie, 7aam Arivu. The actor was so impressed by the movie that he immediately made his mind to remake it in Bollywood. Not only the story of the movie but Shruti Hassan's performance made him to stand up and clap for the actress at the end.

It goes without saying that AR Murugadoss, who directed the actor in Ghajini, shares a good rapport with Aamir Khan. The Bollywood actor, who knows the filmmaker's potential, has been keen watch his forthcoming movie 7aam Arivu, which is hitting the screens on October 26. Hence, the makers of the film screened the film for him recently.

7aam Arivu (7th Sense) directed by AR Murugadoss features Surya in dual roles of a circus artist and a monk named Bodhi Dharman, the transmitter of the Zen. Shruti Hassan will be seen in the character of a young scientist, whereas Hollywood actor Johnny Tri Nguyen has performed the negative character.

Why Rajini did not vote

There was a lot of expectation from fans world over that they would be able to catch a glimpse of their star when he gets to the polling booth to cast his vote. But the Superstar did not cast his vote as the doctors have advised him not to go to place that are crowded.

Rajini returned from Singapore some months ago after advanced medical treatment in Singapore and since then has been maintaining a low profile. His public appearances have become very limited and the star's Rana has also been postponed indefinitely.

It was strongly believed that Rajini would arrive at the Stella Maris College to vote but fans and media persons had to return disappointed.

Want to know about Suriya’s role in 7aum Arivu?

During the audio launch of 7aum Arivu, director AR Murugadoss, producer Udhayanidhi Stalin and Suriya had spoken about the hero's role in the film. AR Murugadoss revealed that Suriya plays the character Bodhi Dharman in the film and it is inspired from a real life character. He also added that every Tamilian will try to find out more about Bodhi Dharman once the film hits the screens. But, the search on the net had begun right from the day he said so.

Giving us an intro about Bodhi Dharman and preparing us for 7aum Arivu, AR Murugadoss says that Bodhi Dharman is one of the princes of the Pallava kingdom during 6th century. When the 27th Buddha comes down to the Pallava kingdom to pay a visit, he gets so impressed with the prince's intelligence and charisma, that he takes him to China along with him. In China, this young prince is trained in martial arts and finally he becomes the 28th Buddha. This story is intertwined in a present day situation with a lot of sci-fi involved.

Director Abhinay Deo and producer Aamir Khan's gleeful experiment in "Hangover"-caliber humor Indian-style delivers the laughs, and young stars.

UNION CITY, Calif. -- Its theme song, "Bhaag Bhaag DK Bose," has already become a rebellious anthem for young Indians giddy about the expletive hidden in its lyrics.

And the first three minutes of Delhi Belly make it clear that this is not a family film: Viewers bothered by butt cracks, the F-word, simulated cunnilingus and rude behavior in burqas are advised to spend their rupees elsewhere.

But director Abhinay Deo and producer Aamir Khan's gleeful experiment in Hangover-caliber humor delivers the laughs, and its young stars, including Khan's nephew, A-lister Imran Khan, rise to the challenge.

The film, which is in English with a bit of subtitled Hindi dialogue, has already become a sensation in India. Now its appeal to open-minded audiences in the diaspora — and to curious viewers anywhere ready for a film that shows India in an irreverent post-Slumdoglight — seems assured.

The highjinks start when a Russian criminal gives Sonia (Shenaz Treasury of One Life to Live), a comely air hostess, a packet of contraband for her to courier. Sonia asks her boyfriend, journalist Tashi (Khan), to deliver it, but sight unseen, the lazy Tashi hands it off to his roommate Arup (Vir Das, in a sparkling comic performance), who in turn carelessly passes it along to another roommate, Nitin (Kunaal Roy Kapoor).

On the way to make the delivery, the pudgy Nitin is distracted by a streetside tandoori chicken stand of dubious hygienic standards; his ensuing Delhi belly unleashes a domino effect of misunderstandings and mistaken identities — the characters soon learn that it's unwise to mix up one's stool sample with a million-dollar packet of black market diamonds.

Delhi Belly's supporting cast sparkles in smaller roles, especially Vijay Raaz as an exasperated crime boss surrounded by incompetents and New York-based actress Poorna Jagannathan as Tashi's problematically sexy coworker.

Akshat Verma's script is peppered with one-liners bound to become buzzwords: At the sight of a tiny Santro mini car, one character observes: "When a donkey %$#@s a rickshaw, this is what you get."

But the script is also grounded in the realities of life in New and Old Delhi: running water that works for just two hours a day, infuriating traffic snarls, a dowry, overcrowded living conditions and the difficulty in finding a nice place to take a poo.

Where actor-turned-producer Aamir Khan's previous two high profile releases, Peepli [Live] and Dhobi Ghat, seemed self-consciously targeted at film festivals or foreign audiences, Delhi Bellyis pure Indian. Producer (and screen superstar) Khan's only misstep is in a comic cameo song at the end of the film: he overstays his welcome, when a momentary glimpse would have had more impact.

The soundtrack by Ram Sampath is top-notch, especially in the way he uses the hit "DK Bose" song and other Indian rock pieces to fuel the action, and cinematographer Jason West aptly captures the chaos.

By the end of the film, the bad guys (and girls) have all gone down in flames, while the good guy gets the girl. Happily, that's one convention from Indian cinema that's here to stay.

We are happy together: Nayanthara

The industry grapevine has been on the overdrive for the last few days that Prabhu Deva- Nayanthara relationship is heading towards splitsville.

A Telugu channel aired a one-hour programme on why Prabhu and Nayan are drifting apart, which garnered record TRP.

The news was later picked up by all leading newspapers and internet sites. The nudge-nudge-wink-wink brigade is out in full force wondering what happened to the fairy tale romance, which they speculate is due to Prabhu Deva's concern and overtly love for his children.

The couple who are in Mumbai where Prabhu is working on his Hindi film was unavailable for any comment and refused to react or make any clarifications.

However, Nayanthara told tamilkey.com: "Our relationship is more stable, happier than ever before. Prabhu has been busy for the last few months with his films and we are together. Our relationship has gone from strength to strength. We both laughed at the recent rumours doing the rounds, which has no truth in it."

Nayan says that today she has got used to such "TRP driven stories" and it is not worth her time to react to such baseless articles. She concludes with a smile: "We are happy together and if our marriage is of major concern for others, the date will be announced soon."

Though Prabhu and Nayan are still tight-lipped about the date of wedding, insiders insist that both parties have started preparing for their wedding which will be an exclusive event for family and close friends. Though the couple have kept the wedding date and venue under the wraps, those close to them confirm that the big day will be sometime next year.

Srikanth is all happy

Srikanth is all happy that his long-awaited Chathurangam finally released.

Srikanth has always maintained that in this film, he has given one of his best performances and it was sad that the release was delayed.
The actor is now awaiting the release of Nanban, the Shankar remake of 3 Idiots.

'I am happy my fans have been able to watch Chathurangam. Now, apart from Nanban, I am simultaneously shooting for Ethiri En 3 and Paagan. Both characters are totally different from each other and it is really a tremendous effort to get into the skin of each when sometimes the dates clash. But, I am thoroughly enjoying these roles and I am confident that the final outcome will be a treat to movie goers,' says Srikanth.

Kamal calls Parthipan

R Parthipan is on cloud nine, right from the moment he received a call from Kamal Haasan, appreciating him for the way he had designed the invitation for the audio launch of his forthcoming film 'Vithagan', which took place in Chennai recently.

"I am a great admirer of the Ulaganayagan and I was so happy to get a phone call from him. Kamal sir told me that he liked the way the invitation was designed. It was simple, straightforward and at the same time stunning," says the actor-director with a smile.

Produced by Manickam Narayanan of Seventh Channel, 'Vithagan', has Parthipan playing the role of a police officer with Poorna opposite him. Written and directed by Parthipan himself, music for the movie is by Joshua Sridhar of 'Kadhal' fame.

"Parthipan initially thought of inviting Kamal to preside over the Vithagan audio launch function. But later dropped the idea, since Kamal is sporting a new getup for his next venture Viswaroopam," says a unit source adding: "Vithagan will hit the screens in November."
