Salman, Katrina Safe in Turkey

Actors Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, who are in Turkey shooting for Kabir Khan's film 'Ek Tha Tiger', are safe.

A source close to the unit said, "They are shooting in Istanbul which is far away from Van, which has been hit by a massive earthquake."

Salman Khan, who was in India for two days to shoot for Bigg Boss, landed on the morning the quake-hit Turkey. Kabir Khan, who earlier tweeted, "Every city has its own energy and character and I love capturing that.'' Salman will be shooting in Turkey for nearly a month and then flies to Iraq to shoot for the same film.

A source said, "Some portions of the film will be shot in the northern border of Iraq and some other middle east countries.''

'Ek Tha Tiger', which will be Salman's next Eid release is a spy thriller shot in five countries. A source said, "One will get to see a different kind of action not like Bodyguard or Dabanng. It is on the lines of Bourne Identity."

Asif Ali turns cowboy

Asif Ali, the hot and happening rising star of Malayalam cinema is now all set to turn into a 'Cowboy'.

Well that's the name of his next film to be directed by debutant P Balachandrakumar.

It's Asif's first all-out action movie, which will give him a new image as an action hero.

Asif plays the role of a tough and rough youth who is labelled as a desperado by society. An incident occurs in his life which changes his outlook.

Mythili is once again Asif's romantic interest. Bala plays the bad guy. Master Pankaj has a pivotal role in the film which will also have Jagathy, Kalasala Babu, Anil Murali,Kunchan, Vijayakumar, Saddiq and Lena in other important roles.

Cowboy is being produced by Dr VS Sudhakaran Nair under the banner of Cine Castle Movie Kingdom. The film will be ompletely shot in Malaysia from November first week.

Mammootty and Lal’s Cobra to start

Mammootty's next film is Cobra which is written and directed by Lal, who will also play an important role in the film.

The film is being produced as a joint venture between Mammootty's Play House and Lal Creations.

Lal said: "I have acted along with Mammootty in a few movies (Thommanum Makkalum and Best Actor) and even produced a film with him. But this is the first time I am directing him."

Cobra revolves around the life of two brothers, known as Cobra. Mamta Mohandas and Lakshmi Rai are the likely leading ladies, though it has not been confirmed. Music is by Alex Paul.

Cobra shoot will begin on November 5 in Kochi and the film is expected to hit screens in February 2012.

GVP for Vikram's next

G.V.Prakash Kumar who is riding high with success of Mayakkam Enna and Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal single has yet another feather to his hat , it is now officially confirmed that G.V.Prakash Kumar has been signed to compose music for Vikram's next flick Karikalan. Karikalan is directed by a debutant director L.I.Kannan, who is a CG specialist. As Karikalan is a period flick, we can expect the director to excel in the CG depatment. It is worth mentioning that GVP composed music for Vikram's last film Deiva Thirumagal and all songs turned out to be chartbusters.

Aamir Khan in 7aum Arivu

Surya's diwali release 7aum Arivu might be remade soon in Hindi with Aamir khan and Shruthi Haasan in the lead. Already, Surya's smash hit Ghajini was remade by A.R.Murugadoss with Aamir Khan in the lead.Recently,Bollywood Super Star Aamir Khan had watched 7aum Arivu along with Cinematographer Ravi K Chandran and had expressed his interest to A.R.Murugadoss for acting in the Hindi version of this magnum opus. But the movie might take off only during late 2012 since A.R.Murugadoss will start his next venture with Vijay. 7aum Arivu has already stormed the box office by setting new records in advance reservations and number of prints worldwide.

Mayakkam Enna goes places

Selvaraghavan's upcoming venture Mayakkam Enna starring Dhanush and Richa gangopadhyay is going places even before it gets released .According to a press release ,Mayakkam Enna has been selected for the South Asian Film Festival which will be held in New York later this year. It is worth mentioning that Dhanush's previous blockbuster Aadukalam was selected and widely appreciated in various film festivals . No wonder Mayakkam Enna audio cds are selling like hot cakes and it is already a hit among the youth.Mayakkam Enna was earlier scheduled for diwali and now it has been postponed for a November release.

Vishnu is now Veera Dheera Suran

Actor Vishnu, who is known for excellent performances in movies like Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu and Kullanari Kootam turns Veera Dheeran Suran.Yes, Vishnu will star in Director Suseenthiran's next flick titled Veera Dheera Suran , other cast and crew details are yet to be finalized .The movie will go on floors once Suseenthiran completes Vikram's Rajapattai.

Ra One 3D gets Postponed

Shahrukh Khan's magnum opus Ra.One is scheduled for Diwali release worldwide in 2D and 3D versions . The latest we hear from the team is that the 3D version of Ra.One will release only from October 29 due to last minute technical glitch in the CG shots for the 3D version. Till then the theatres will continue playing 2D version of the movie . Ever since the news broke out Shahrukh Khan fans are disappointed.

Ravi Babu’s Nuvvila completes censor with U/A

Ravi Babu's 'Nuvvila' on Ushakiron Movies went to censor yesterday and recieved a clean U/A certificate. The film features all new comers and music is tuned by Sekhar Chandra. Ravi Babu along with the producers is creating sensation with his creative and innovative promos with cute babies and puppies without revealing the starcast. One has to wait and watch RaviBabu's directoral creativity in the story. The film which was slated for Oct 28th release was postponed and is now scheduled to release on Nov 3rd. Insiders say the film is recieving average.
