Srikanth in a comedy role

After a long gap, Srikanth films are being released one by one continuously. The film Sathurangam which had Srikanth in the lead role was released recently and it has earned him a good name.

Now he is currently sharing the screen with Vijay and Jeeva in the film Nanban directed by Shankar. At this juncture he is donning the lead role in a film. The film is titled Paagan. Janani Iyer is pairing with Srikanth in this film. Mohammad Aslam is debuting as a director through this film. He had earlier worked as an assistant to popular directors like Cheran, Ameer and Radha Mohan. Aslam has mentioned that he is giving importance to comedy in his first film.

While speaking about Paagan, the director said, "Paagan is a comedy filled entertaining film. This film has all the commercial ingredients like romance, action, sentiments with more dosage of comedy.
This film will be definitely a sixer for Srikanth. He has excelled in comedy in each sequences. Everybody will be amazed by seeing his sense of humour. Like how Thillu Mullu was for Rajnikanth sir, Paagan will be for Srikanth. About the story, I should say that an elephant is a huge animal but the mahout (Paagan) a small person is able to control it.

The same can be applicable to human life also. This forms the basis for the story. Janani Iyer who had acted in Avan Ivan is pairing with Srikanth in this film. Kovai Sarala is donning the role of Srikanth's mother while George who had acted in Madrasapattinam is donning the role of Srikanth's father. Suri and Pandi are donning the role of Srikanth's friends. James Vasanthan is composing the music for this film. The lyrics are penned by Yugabharathi, Surya and Virushika. Lakshman who had handled the camera for Vennila Kabadi Kulu and Kullanari Kootam is handling the camera for this film. The shooting of this film is taking place in Lonavala, Pollachi and in some foreign locales."

Rajini and Aishwarya Rai again

 

Superstar Rajinikanth who is getting ready for Rana, seems to have a surprise for his fans. Deepika Padukone who got the lead role, has completed some of the major portions of the film. Also kanja karuppu is home-working hard for his comedy track to give life to Rana. While things are shaping well silently, there are rumors that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will also appear in a special role. Aishwarya Rai who is in the hospital to deliver her baby has got the blessings and prayers from the superstar's family members.

Once the she returns from the hospital, Aishwarya Rai and Abishek Bachchan will be coming back in the 2012 film Ladies and Gentlemen. But before that she will be doing a special role in Rana it seems. The chemistry between Superstar Rajinikanth and Aishwarya rai worked well in Enthiran the Robot, and also was recieved well with the audience. But this time they won't be romancing, it would be a dedication to the Superstar on behalf of his gratitude shown in Enthiran.

Actor Prasanna to marry Actress Sneha

 

Reel life pair becoming real life partners soon, it is nothing new to tamil cinema , Be it Ajith – Shalini or Surya-Jothika there were much speculation about their real life commitment ,the latest to join that list is Actor Prasanna ,who will tie knots to actress Sneha. There were many media speculations about this pair ever since they both had shared screen space for Achamundu Achamundu, though the movie didn't click at the box office, their relationship did. Ever since then they were seen together in almost all the public appearances. The duo had initially played it down saying that they were just friends but it was officially announced today that they'll marry soon . Prasanna said that the engagement will take place soon and marriage date will be finalized soon.

Tamil padam director's next is Rendavathu padam

 

C.S.Amudhan who directed Tamil Padam with Mirchi Siva is ready with his next venture , titled "Rendavadthu padam" . The movie will feature Kalavani, Vaagai Sooda Vaa fame Vimal, Chennai 28 fame Aravind and Naalai fame Richard in the lead roles . Renduvathu padam will be a multi genre movie that falls under various categories like Period,Sci-Fi , Action thriller and romance with enough scope for animation as well.The director has decided not to include any kind of Spoofs in this movie . Tamil Padam music director Kannan will compose for this flick as well.

Sneha’s simplicity attracted me, says Prasanna

 

Although they have only acted in Achamundu Achamundu together, Prasanna and Sneha seems to have hit it off after that movie. Their friendship blossomed into love and they announced their wedding officially recently. "We only had professional relationship when we did that movie," said Prasanna.

He also said that he likes Sneha for her simplicity. "She is an accomplished actress but she has no airs about it and she's very humble. That is what attracted me," he was quoted as saying. They are tying the knot next year, the date of which will be decided at the engagement this month.

Actress Bhavana says that glamour will not suit her

 

Actress Bhavana while speaking to the media said, "I have got full recognition in Karnataka after my first Kannada film Josh was released. The film Vishnuvardha in which I have paired with Sudeep is ready for release.

Next I am pairing with Ganesh in the Kannada film titled Romeo. The Malayalam film in which I have acted with Mohanlal is to be released soon. Priyadarshan has directed this film. Recently I was approached for a Tamil film which had Karthi in the lead role.

They also mentioned that was a double heroine subject and I had to act glamorously in the song sequences. I refused this offer because glamour will not suit me."

Sneha and Prasanna wedding Soon

 

These showbiz munchkins are as unpredictable as our Chennai weather.

tamilkey.com had reported last month that Prasanna and Sneha are more than just good friends and they are always seen together at all events – be it premieres, parties or at common friend's houses.

This month news according to grapevine is that the lovely pair will be tying the knot by March next year.

Sneha it seems has even got a special wedding band made for Prasanna and a two-carat ring for herself for the big event.

The smile queen of Kollywood is undoubtedly one of the most talented and beautiful actresses who is loved by family audiences. And Prasanna is a Mr Nice Guy who came into Kollywood as a breath of fresh air with loads of talent and promise.

Recently when we quizzed about how he has re invented the boy-next-door look which includes cool and trendy clothes, he didn't hesitate to give the credit to "good friend" Sneha for the makeover.

Arjun turns Villain for Mani Rathnam

 

After stupendous success of Ajith starrer Mankatha,Action King Arjun is back for yet another biggie.The latest buzz is that Arjun has agreed to play antagonist role in ace director Mani Rathnam's upcoming flick which is rumored to be Pookadai that will feature veteran actor Karthick's son Gautham in the lead. It is worth mentioning that Mani Rathnam gave Karthik's blockbuster Agni Natchthiram and he paved way for Karthik's second innings through Raavanan .Meanwhile, yesteryear actress Radha's second daughter Tulasi will play Gautham's love interest. Mani Rathnam will retain his technical crew who worked for his earlier flick Raavanan, while A.R.Rahman will compose for this romantic venture .

Trisha and Karthika are sharing the screen for a Telugu film starring Jr NTR.

The actress assured her fans that Karthika is not her competitor and that her role is well – defined and a performance oriented one. She also added that she has no hassles about working with other heroines and is just happy that she is still getting good roles.

It may be recalled that Trisha shared the screen with Lakshmi Rai and Andrea in manktha starring Ajith in Tamil recently.

Story
A series of murders take place in city. Married women are killed. Cops go crazy and they go hammer and tongs to nab the culprit. Prabhakaran (Karthik) enters Chennai. He settles down in a mansion with his friends. He comes across one Anitha (Varsha) and falls in love with her. Slowly they get close to each other when Varsha gets the shock of her life. She comes to know that Prabhakar is behind the killings.

As events unfold, Prabhakar lands in cop's nest and it is revealed in detal why he turns serial -killer. He has had a bad past and its the reason for his act.

Performance
Karthik and varsha play their part well. Karthik at places tried to do a Dhanush act of Kadhal kondein. His emotional outburst is good. Varsha looks naive and plays her part well.

The director seems to have extracted the best from his artistes. With a majority of new faces around, the filmmaker manages to hold sway.

Analysis
The movie is more of Kadhal Kondien meeting Sigappu Rojakkal. The director has opted for romance but ends up as a thrilling episode. However a deja vu ride prevails as one watches the film. However there are some interesting elements in the film that could sustain some interest.

Verdict
A honest attempt by the filmmaker and serious performance by the star cast make the movie count.
