Arun Vijay hurt
Arun Vijay was hurt on the sets of Thadaiyara Thaaka. The actor was involved in the climax scene that was being shot at the Binny Mills for the last nine days when he hurt his shoulder. Art director Mohana Mahendran had a factory set built at the cost of 45 lakhs for this particular scene.
Anal Arasau choreographed this fight scene between Arun Vijay and Vamsi when the former hurt himself. According to a press release from the filmmakers, Vamsi was holding an iron rod and this slipped from his hands and hut Arun Vijay on the shoulders. The doctors have advised Arun Vijay complete rest as there is slight should dislocation.
AR Murugadoss pins his hopes on Journey
Engeyun Eppothum has been dubbed in Telugu and will be released under the title Journey. The audio launch of this film took place in Hyderabad in which several film personalities participated. The film's heroes Jai and Sharvanand were at the audio launch function along with Anjali, the leading lady.
Navdeep, Rana Dagubbati and other Tollywood stars also made it to this event. AR Murugadoss, one of the producers of this film, said that he hopes Journey will get the same response as it did in Tamil.
Journey's director Saravanan has said that he is happy that his film is going places.
‘Irandaam Ulagam’ from December?
Known for taking time between films, Selvaraghavan is going against the popular perception against him. The director, who will have the release of 'Mayakkam Enna' in the last week of November, will start his next venture 'Irandaam Ulagam' immediately.
Confirming this, Selva says, "Yes, I will start Irandaam Ulagam in December. The film will have Arya and Anushka in lead roles." He also clarified that 'Irandaam Ulagam' is not the title he originally planned for 'Mayakkam Enna'. "Only the media claimed it that way," he adds.
Talking about 'Mayakkam Enna', the maker of 'Pudupettai' and 'Aayirathil Oruvan', says, "It is about today's youngsters who believe that nothing is wrong. The film will peep into their world and bring to the light their way of approach towards life. Dhanush is a perfect fit to the role."
This is fourth time for Selva to work with his National Award winning brother, after 'Thulluvadho Ilamai', 'Kadhal Konden' and 'Pudupettai'. "The movie was about to hit the screens Deepavali itself, but got delayed due to my ill-health. All is well now," concludes the filmmaker.
Mayakkam Enna in USA and Canada
Mayakkam Enna will be released on November 24 in USA and Canada. G.K. Media which has distributed movies like Kaavalan, Boss Engira Baskaran, Aadukalam and Mankatha in USA has bought the rights for this film as well.
The upcoming romantic drama film directed by Selvaraghavan stars his brother Dhanush, along with Richa Gangopadhyay, and features music by G. V. Prakash Kumar.
Bharathiraja’s Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum
'Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum', the comeback film of ace director Bharathiraja, is being launched at a grand function in Theni today.
Big guns of Kollywood, including Balachander, Balu Mahendra and Mani Ratnam, will attend the event which has raised a lot of curiosity.
"Bharathiraja has time and again claimed that this movie would be his answer to young filmmakers. And he had invited three top movie makers of Tamil cinema for the launch function. These things have made the event a much talked about one in the industry," says a unit member.
With Ameer, Karthika (of 'Ko' fame) playing the lead roles, the rural movie will have music by young composer GV Prakash. It is said that he has completed a few songs for the film, in association with veteran lyricist Vairamuthu. "This is first time for GV to work with the Kaviperarasu."
Produced by Bharathiraja himself under Manoj Creations banner, 'Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum' has cinematography by B Kannan, the favourite lensman of the Iyakkumar Imayam. "The rural face of Tamil Nadu will come out in open with all its originality in this film," adds the source.
Nayanthara is birthday today
Nayanthara is celebrating her birthday today, November 18th, 2011. The actress's latest Telugu release Rama Rajyam hit the screens yesterday and has received some rave reviews already. This mythological film has Bala Krishna and Nayathara playing the lead pair and has been directed by Bapu.
Rama Rajyam is believed to be Nayan's last film as there is a word spreading out that she has quit movies to settle in marital bliss. The actress has been dating director-choreographer-actor Prabhu Deva for long and the two are expected to make an announcement about their wedding soon.
