Mani Ratnam’s Thalapathy remake rights sold

 

The 1991 Mani Ratnam classic Thalapathy starring Rajinikanth, Mammootty and Shobhana, remake rights in Hindi has been purchased by Bollywood producer Bharath Shah.

Bharath Shah had co-produced Mani Ratnam's Madhavan- Shalini romantic musical Alaipayuthey in Hindi as Saathiya with Vivek Oberoi and Rani Mukherjee.

Thalapathy had extraordinary music by Ilayaraja. The theme of the film is loosely based on the friendship between Karna and Duryodhana in epic Mahabharata. Internationally noted cinematographer Santosh Sivan, made his debut in the Tamil with the film.

The Hindi remake will be directed by Puja Jatinder Singhwho has assisted the producer for his various films. The shoot will start in early 2012.

Richa Gangopadhyay is excited about Mayakkam Enna

 

Couple of days are left for the release of Selvaraghavan's magnum opus Mayakkam Enna,but the expectations are already sky high.Ever since the online reservations were open,tickets are selling like hot cakes. Meanwhile,Richa Gangopadhyay is overwhelmed by the feedbacks that was showered upon her after a private show that was arranged for the crew members of the movie she was thrilled and excited about the feedbacks from the man himself , Selvaraghavan and his better half Gitanjali Selvaraghavan. Though she is yet to watch the movie she is very much confident that her character in the movie will create impact that of Jessie in Vinnathandi Varuvaya. It is worth mentioning that Mayakkam Enna is the debut movie of Richa Gangopadhyay where she is paired opposite Dhanush, she is also featured in Simbhu's Osthi that will hit the screens on December 1st, she is seen as lucky angel who bagged roles from leading actors of Kollywood who are seen as competitors call it coincident or lucky both the movies release with a week gap.

Porali gets more focus

 

Sasikumar-Samudrakani combination's Porali is to hit the theatres on the first day of December, it is learnt. The film has been certified with U/A by the censor board. Sasi and Kani are quite happy over the outcome of the movie. Another buzz about this movie is that Samudrakani shot a scene involving Sasikumar riding two horses at a time.

This shot alone went on for six days, said the unit circle. The longer duration was due to the training mooted to the horses. It took almost two days for the horse to identify Sasi and on the penultimate day only they accustomed to him. With this film wrapped up, it is known that both Sasi and Samudrakani will concentrate on the remakes of their movies in Hindi.

The films on the listing are Subramaniapuram and Nadodigal, the theme of which have impressed the Bollywood producers. Both these technicians seem to have scheduled the remakes for another two years. We are not sure when we would get back to them in Tamil movies.

Director Bala’s Eriyum Thanal First Look

 

Bala the National Award Winning director is getting ready for his next project Eriyum Thanal starring Adharva. This Malayalam novel which has been translated into Tamil by an author called Daniel, is titled as Eriyum Thanal.

Bala who is known for dealing Sensitive and Emotional subjects, after reading the Novel got the copyrights to bring it to life and also kept the same title.

The novel is based on a couple who have a child and the trials and tribulations they face in bringing their child up. Adharva plays the Son's role and other roles are yet to be finalised. Also Bala is targetting this film for International Film Festivals.

This time Bala has roped GV Prakash to play the tunes and the musician took it as an honor to work with him. Adharva is getting shaped up for the role. The First Look of Eriyum Thanal is expected in a short period of time.

Andrea was Kamal’s personal choice

 

Andrea Jeremiah who is well known for her voice and her roles in Aayirathil Oruvan and Pachaikilli Muthucharam. Now the singer cum actress has joined Kamal Hassan's Viswaroopam to play as the second heroine.

Kamal himself has roped Andrea in for Viswaroopam, the reason is her talent in singing. Andrea who sang the song Who's the Hero in Kamal's Manmadhan Ambu impressed Kamal a lot who himself is a great singer. Later he also saw the acting skills of Andrea and finally he included Andrea in the Viswaroopam team.

Andrea who says it is a dream oppurtunity to work with a legend like Kamal sir and i am excited about my role she adds.

Genelia to marry Riteish ,wedding news

 

 

 

The cat is finally out of the bag. Riteish Deshmukh, the Bollywood actor who hails from an influential political family, has confessed that he is in love with Genelia D' Souza and both would enter wedlock next year. "The date has not been fixed yet however," he added. For more than seven years now, the media has been writing about the relationship between Genalia and Riteish. However, both constantly denied the reports, saying that they are just 'good friends'. "We have been really dignified in our decision to not discuss it in public," says Riteish. Genelia, who had acted in a string of Tamil movies starting from 'Boys', had her recent flick 'Velayudham' hitting the screens for Deepavali. "I just felt that she was the one. I'm in love with her. That's it. We grew up together. We learnt things together. It was gradual," says Riteish, while talking about his special bonding with Genelia. Confirming that their families have given consent to the relationship, the young actor adds: "Right from the beginning they knew that we would marry someday. Their blessings are with us. As far as the marriage is concerned, we are working out on various things. We are still trying to figure out the details on the date, venue etc…"

Mambattiyan audio to be launched

 

Prashanth's audio release will be live on Sun Music on November 23 at 7pm.

Mambattiyan is a remake of Thyagarajan's 1983 Malayur Mambattian which had Thiagarajan and Saritha in the lead and
was a super hit.

Now Thiagarajan is remaking the film with his son Prasanth in the lead under his banner Lakshmi Shanthi Movies. The film also has Meera Jasmine, Prakash Raj, Vadivelu and Mumaith Khan in supporting roles.

It has music by Thaman. Mambattiyan is going to be a December release

I will not act with Jai in future: Anjali

 

It was a harmless publicity gimmick for a film that became serious.

Anjali of Angaditheru and Engeyum Eppodhum fame has gone ahead and released a press release, denying that she is in love with Jai, her co-star.

Remember that there were reports in media about the sizzling chemistry between the pair in Engeyum Eppodhum and later during the promotion of the film. In fact director Murugadoss who is the producer of EE, before release of the film tried to promote the pair as "madly in love".

After the film turned out to be a runaway super hit, the audiences too thought that their on-screen chemistry was real.

Murgadoss cashed in on it by making them compere the 7aum Arivu audio launch. The fine pair tickled the audiences with their smart one-liners and camaraderie, which brought them even closer.

But once EE became a hit the pair realised that unknowingly they were attracted to each other. However Anjali realised that all the publicity would be bad for her career which is now on the upswing.

The actress has now gone ahead a step further by not only denying her affair with Jai but also making a statement that she will never act opposite him!

Like the old adage "there is no smoke without fire", Anjali`s decision to deny her affair with Jai after taking him up the garden path smacks of double standards.

Director Rajesh Join With Karthi ‘Kagidha Kappal’

 

Director Rajesh (of Siva Manasula Shakthi and Boss Engira Bhaskaran fame), who is currently busy with Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, has confirmed to a leading English daily that he will team with Karthi for a family entertainer soon.

Reportedly the film is titled Kagidha Kappal and will go on floors once Rajesh completes his ongoing Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, which also marks the acting debut of Udhayanidhi Stalin. The Karthi movie will be produced by Studio Green.

Meanwhile, Oru Kal Oru Kannadi is progressing briskly in and around Chennai. The movie, titled from the hit song from Siva Manasula Sakthi, has Hansika Motwani as the heroine. Like Rajesh's earlier movies, comedian Santhanam will present his signature humour. The director is also planning to have five important punches in the film.
