Ilayaraja to perform live in Chennai

 

The maestro Ilayaraja is going to perform live on December 28 at Nehru stadium in Chennai.

The musical night "Endrendrum Raja" is being organised by Jaya TV .

A press meet was held by Ilayaraja and Jaya TV to announce the grand show. It will be the maestro's first public function after the demise of his wife.

A spokesperson for Jaya TV said: "There has been tremendous response to Raja sir's musical concert. The show promises to be exciting and interesting with a lot of surprises thrown in."

Nanban & Vettai releases on Jan 14?

 

The trade has confirmed that Shankar's Vijay multi-starrer Nanban and Lingusamy's Vettai featuring Madhavan and Arya will release on January 14, Pongal day.

Earlier UTV Motion Pictures were planning to release Vettai on January 12, two days before Nanban to get the early bird advantage.

However trade bigwigs shot down the idea, as they felt it will be "Pongal previous".

There is a belief that if a film releases earlier than the festival day, it will not open well, as people are busy preparing and shopping for the festivities.

So Vettai got pushed by two days from January 12 to 14, and will now take on Nanban.

Actress Mamta Mohandas got married

 

 

Film actress Mamta Mohandas got married to her childhood friend and Bahrain-based businessman Prajit Padmanabhan at a simple function held at the Kadavu Resorts in the Malappuram district.

Prajit is the son of Padmanabhan Kartha of Moovattupuzha and Geetha and Mamta, daughter of Mohandas and Geetha of Kannur Thalassery.

The bride and the groom came in a horse chariot accompanied by the exhilarating sounds of panchavadyam. The two got engaged on November 11 at a function held at the groom's house in Moovattupuzha.

Closes relatives of the two and a few friends from the film fraternity attended the marriage function. Directors Sathyan Anthicaud and Shyama Prasad, singer Unni Menon and actress Samvritha Sunil attended the function.

Don't compare with Aamir Khan says Vijay

 

Nanban which is getting ready for pongal release has already created the buzz with 6 different and enjoyable songs . Nanban is the remake of bollywood blockbuster 3 Idiots which had bollywood super star Aamir Khan , Sharman Joshi and Madhavan. But , the entire cast and crew of the movie suggests not to compare Nanban to that of the original. Vijay said that his performance in Nanban will be different from his previous flicks in his unique style. He also said Nanban will be refreshing even to those who watched 3 Idiots .It is worth mentioning that Nanban is the first remake venture of ace director Shankar.

Suseenthiran is optimistic

 

Director Suseenthiran who received rave reviews for his earlier flicks is receiving mixed reviews for his latest offering Rajapattai which stars Vikram , Viswanath and Deeksha Seth in lead roles. Though, the movie gained enough profits for the producers , some section of the audience have sour part regarding the movie being too much commercial. Director Suseenthiran has reacted to these views and said that his upcoming flicks won't have any comprise and all his ventures will have better results which will satisfy every section of the audience.The director is busy with the pre production works for his next venture Veera Dheera Sooran which will have Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu Vishnu in the lead.
