Priyamani is miffed with ‘fake scandal’

 

The Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) kick started a controversy. Actress Priyamani, the brand ambassador for CCL, is furious with a section of media for creating a controversy between Hindi actor Sachiin Joshi and her.

Apparently a leading publication recently reported that 'Sachiin teased Priyamani in allegedly inebriated state' at an after match party. This news upset Priyamani and she clarified on the incident. "We (Priyamani and Sachiin) were just unwinding after the matches. I don't understand why a story like this has been circulated. All it does is harm Sachiin and my reputation."

The actress is now planning to hold a joint press meet with Sachiin Joshi to clarify her stand.

Vikram takes on Surya

 

Two of the superstars of Tamil film industry are ready to clash on small-screen. The duo, who was seen together in award winning film Pithamagan, will be in the war of TRPs in the coming months. Yes, Vikram and Surya, the two actors known for varieties, will be hosting television game shows soon.

It is well-known that Surya is making his small-screen debut with Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi, the Tamil version of Kaun Banega Crorepati. Now, a popular channel has approached Vikram to host a similar kind of game show, which tests participant's general knowledge.

It is reported that Vikram, who is fully busy with his films, is keen to take up the project but the actor is not sure whether he can allot the required number of dates for the show and devote himself for the TV program.

Rukmini in Kochadaiyaan

 

Actress Sneha, who was opted to play Superstar Rajinikanth's sister in Kochadaiyaan, was replaced by Bommalattam fame Rukmini.

Soundarya Ashwin, the smart director has immediately roped in Rukmini to play Thalaivar's sister. Sneha has opted out as she is citing dates issues, as the actress is presently busy with GNR Kumaravel's directorial titled Haridas with antagonist turned hero Krishna.

Kochadaiyaan also casts Shobana, Sarath Kumar, Jackie Shroff, Nassar and Aadhi in the pivotal roles. Rajini's film has Rajiv Menon's cinematography, music by A.R.Rahman for the lyrics scripted by Vairamuthu, Sunil Lulla will be producing the film under Eros Entertainment and K.S.Ravikumar will supervise the film besides penning the script.

14 cuts in a kiss scene

 

Ace Bollywood stunt choreographer Tinu Varma's Tamil directorial debut Kaattu Puli that has 'Action King' Arjun and Sayali Bhagat in key roles, has gone through the censor scanner and an explicit lip-lock scene was given fourteen cuts.

The film is a jungle thriller and has Arjun playing a doctor who is part of a group that goes to a forest on a secret mission.

Bianca Desai is acting opposite him. Former Miss India Sayali Bhagat, Mr India title winner Rajneesh Duggal, Hanaya (Miss Assam), Amith, Jahan and Jennifer are playing important characters in the film. It is a high-action flick and Sayali has done a few daredevil fights without a body double.

The kissing scene between Jahan and Jennifer runs for almost two minutes in the film, which didn't go down well with the censor members. They objected to the raunchy shot and suggested 14 cuts if it was to be included in the film.

Tinu had no choice but to accept the butchered version. Sources say that despite the cuts, the film was given an 'A' certification by the CB due to its serious content. The trilingual will be released on Feb 17.

Power Star Pawan Kalyan in Mani Ratnam’s Kadal

 

Amidst reports that Mani Ratnam has signed up several actors and actresses for his Kadal, including Gautham Karthik, Samantha and Aravind Samy, we hear that Tollywood star Pawan Kalyan may do a cameo in this film.

Mani Ratnam has a role for Pawan in this film and feels that it could be the USP in the Telugu version of Kadal. Following this, Pawan has been approached but the outcome of this is yet to be confirmed by either one of the parties. AR Rahman is scoring the music for Kadal with Vairamuthu penning the lyrics.

Dhanush offers prayers at Tirupati

 

Dhanush who is going great guns in the past few months especially after the huge success of Kolaveri had been to Tirupati and offered prayers to Lord Balaji by tonsuring his head.

Dhanush was accompanied by music composer Anirudh Ravichandran. Dhanush had been to the temple after tonsuring his head.

Emerging out of the temple, Dhanush, said, 'it is a thanks giving gesture to Almighty. I offered my prayers to Him'.

He said, ' I am happy with the way things are hapening in my life. I wish to continue singing and give many more hits like Kolaveri'.
