Veteran actor Karthik's son Gautham is playing the lead role in Mani Ratnam's Kadal. Interestingly he plays plays the son of a fisherman from Rameswaram.
Apparently, to essay the role, the director had instructed Gautham to shed a few kilos and get a toned physique.Gautham is fair and tall and has got smiling eyes, which are exactly similar to that of his dad's. He is complete hero material, says a source.
However, Mani and his team are taking care that none of Gautham's pictures are out until they make an official announcement! Meanwhile, Mani has started shooting at a coastal village near Tuticorin.
