Director Gautham Menon has worked with Harris Jeyaraj for more than 11 years since their debut in Minnale. When Menon roped in ARR for his Vinnaithandi Varuvaya, he was more excited to reveal that he has accomplished a long time aspirations. However, this pitch increased when the Hindi version of VTV was just released (Ek Deewana Thaa). Menon was left in the lurch for his current film – a trilingual – with Jeeva and Samantha in the lead role, Neethane En Ponvasantham.

For this film Harris could not accommodate his scores since he had planned for an universal musical tour. Hence Gautham was at the peril of searching a right composer which landed him to the fingers of maestro Ilayaraja. This news became the talk of the tinsel town as Ilayaraja is more elusive to certain films. But Gautham Menon was fortunate to get the nod. Now the songs are on composition stage and the lyricist Thamarai is on the cabins of Ilayaraja. Normally Gautham spends more time on song composition and enjoys the recording.

In this case too he said he has now got the fullest satisfaction of working with such a genius. He said he had been a staunch fan of Ilayaraja right from his youth days and he was eagerly expecting an opportunity to work with him. Similar tone of praise came from Thamarai too when she said it has been an altogether different environment to work with the musical elite composer. It is true because Rajathi Rajathi Rajan Intha Raja, Eppovum Raja.
