Badri is directing this film. Shiva is donning the role which Rajni donned in the original version while Prakash Raj dons the role of Thengai . Isha Talwar dons the role of Madhavi while Kovai Sarala dons the role of Sowcar Janaki.

Now it is understood that Power Star Srinivasan will be donning the role of Nagesh. In the film Thillu Mullu, Rajni will be with a moustache in some sequences and without moustache in some sequences. Rajni will do this because of Nagesh's instigation. Nagesh role in this film has significance and because of this everyone is surprised because Pow er Star is donning this role.
